The Dramatists Guild Fund hosted its annual presentation of new work by DG Fellows at Playwrights Horizons on October 19, 2015. The evening featured excerpts from work by the 2014-2015 class, including Naveen Bahar Choudhury, Camille Darby, Sophie Jaff, Dana Levinson, Kristine M. Reyes, Tim Rosser, Charlie Sohne, Mark Sonnenblick, Aurin Squire, Kathleen Tagg, James A. Tyler, Stacey Weingarten and Ben Wexler. Scroll down for photos from the presentation, including guests Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, Jayne Houdyshell and more!

About the Works:

Lily in Love by Kristine M. Reyes - Lily is a good Catholic Filipina daughter who's always known exactly what to do with her life -- until she falls in love with a woman.

hop tha A by James Tyler - Things go off the rails between Tyler and Niesha in this ride uptown on the A train.

Madame and 5th Republic by Dana Levinson and Stacey Weingarten - Love transcends all boundaries in Madame, a Southern Gothic musical set in New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century. Freedom has a cost in 5th Republic, a musical set in Paris in 1959 against the backdrop of the Algerian War for Independence.

Queen Nanny by Camille Darby - The Nanny pushes Melanie to the limit with a secret that threatens the family.

Ship Show by Ben Wexler and Mark Sonnenblick - Susana and Tom win a fabulous cruise that will fix all of their
problems. Then the boat fabulously breaks down and they're stuck floating in the Caribbean with furious passengers, spoiled food, and a wild tiger that's escaped from its cage...

Erika's Wall by Kathy Tagg and Sophie Jaff - Based on the true story of Olympic athlete Erika Eiffel, who married
the Eiffel Tower in 2007, Erika's Wall asks us not only "What is love" but "How far will someone go to find it?"

Girl Games by Naveen Bahar Choudhury - A team of female videogame developers creates a violent new game geared toward young girls, implicating themselves in a crime spree.

Story Town, USA by Aurin Squire - Set in the demented heartland of America, "Storytown, USA" is a dark satire on love that revolves around a small community of misfits and misanthropes.

Run Away Home by Tim Rosser and Charlie Sohne - Run Away Home is about a family whose lives completely change with the arrival of a young man claiming to be their long lost son. Despite the fact that he looks very little like the boy, the family takes him in as their own.

Work presented on October 19th was developed over the past year under the tutelage of Michael Korie, Diana Son, and Andrea Lepcio as part of the Fellows Program, administered by the Dramatists Guild. Each year, a select group of playwrights and musical theater writers are accepted into the nine-month program, which provides continued support and training through group sessions with theater professionals, one-on-one mentoring, and resources to build established careers.
