On Monday September 9th, the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) Artists' Salon presented "A Conversation With" Junot Diaz, the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and Lin-Manuel Miranda, actor/lyricist/composer of the 2008 Tony Award-Winner for Best Musical In the Heights.
The event was held at The Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz Memorial, Educational & Cultural Center(3940 Broadway at 165th Street, New York City, NY)The conversation was sponsored by New York Presbyterian, Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone and Manhattan Times
ABOUT NoMAA: The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) was founded in 2007 to support artists and arts organizations in Washington Heights and Inwood and serve as a catalyst in the ongoing cultural and economic development of Northern Manhattan. NoMAA is a non-profit organization with priMary Funding from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) and is being incubated by the Hispanic Federation during its start up phase. NoMAA is governed by a Board of Directors composed of community stakeholders and led by Executive Director Sandra A.
