Direct from a 13-city national tour, the limited Broadway engagement of Bring It On: The Musical began performances on July 12, 2012 at The St. James Theatre (246 W. 44th Street) and officially opened on August 1, 2012. After opening to widespread critical acclaim, the show – which was scheduled to end its limited run on Sunday, October 7, 2012 – is now extended through December 30, 2012.
Bring It On: The Musical is inspired by the Bring It On film and features an original story by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (IN THE HEIGHTS), music by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist Amanda Green (High Fidelity) and music supervision by Tony and Grammy Award winner Alex Lacamoire (IN THE HEIGHTS). The production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (IN THE HEIGHTS).
