Some of Broadway's top performers told the stories and sang the songs that made them famous in "Gimme a Break, A Benefit Evening for The Transport Group" (The Audience, First Lady Suite), honoring Gilbert Parker.  The event took place on Monday, December 4th at 6:30pm at the Florence Gould Hall at the French Institute (55 E. 59th Street between Park & Madison Avenues).

"Gimme a Break" was hosted by Julie Halston/> (Broadway: Gypsy, Hairspray; TV: CBS' "The Class").  There were cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (catering by Showstoppers), a silent auction and a performance by some of Broadway's brighest talents, including: Beth Leavel, Terrence McNally, Marin Mazzie, Liz McCartney, Beth Leavel and Seth Rudetsky.

Transport Group honored Parker with its third annual Humanitarian Award for his role in bringing into production major plays and musicals for the American theatre.
