The national tour of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot, starring Michael York as King Arthur, Rachel York as Guenevere and James Barbour as Lancelot, recently began at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts in La Mirada, CA, where it runs from January 12th through 28th.
The tour will officially launch in San Jose, CA on January 30th, 2007; it will likely circle the country for at least six months.
"Relive the romance of Camelot from a fresh new perspective...in this magnificent new production of Lerner and Loewe's timeless masterpiece. The splendid, memorable score includes the haunting 'If Ever I Would Leave You,' the captivating 'How To Handle a Woman' and the majestic 'Camelot,'" state La Mirada notes on the 1960 show, which concerns an Arthurian love triangle between king, queen and knight. Camelot, based on The Once and Future King by T.H. White, features music by Frederick Loewe and lyrics and book by Alan Jay Lerner.
