The Transport Group presented "An Evening with John Doyle," a one-night only event on Monday, June 5, at the Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, between Varick Street and Sixth Avenue).

"An Evening with John Doyle" featured Transport Group artistic director Jack Cummings III interviewing 2006 Tony nominee John Doyle, director of the current revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Doyle will also direct the upcoming revival of Sondheim's Company, which is due on Broadway this fall. Both productions are notable for their use of the cast as actor-musicians.

In addition to interviewing Doyle, Cummings discussed Doyle's work with Manoel Felciano, a Tony nominee for his role in Sweeney Todd; Raul Esparza, who stars as Robert in Doyle's production of Company; and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, who serves as orchestrator for Company. The evening concluded with a question and answer period with the audience and four panelists, and was filmed for the Lincoln Center Theatre on Film and Tape Archives.
