Variety reports that stage and screen star Patrick Wilson, who received acclaim for his recent turn in Little Children, will star alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington in the new thriller Lakeview.  As previously announced, the film will be directed by Neil LaBute.

The film is "about an interracial couple who move into a new home only to find themselves harassed by their neighbor, a racist LAPD officer."  It will be produced by Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and Will Smith, executive produced by David Laughery and Jeff Graup, and with a screenplay by Laughery.

Wilson, who will next be seen with Meryl Streep, Vanessa Redgrave, Claire Danes and others in Evening, is a two-time Tony Award-nominee for Oklahoma! and The Full Monty.  He has also been seen on Broadway in Barefoot in the Park and The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm.  He is an Emmy-nominee for his turn in HBO's "Angels in America," and has also been seen on screen in Running with Scissors, Hard Candy, The Phantom of the Opera and The Alamo.  Upcoming films include Passengers, opposite Anne Hathaway.

LaBute's plays include In a Dark, Dark HouseWrecks, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig, This is How It Goes, The Distance from Here and The Shape of Things (the latter was adapted into a film).  His film credits include The Wicker Man, Possession, Your Friends and Neighbors, Nurse Betty and The Company of Men.

Shooting will begin this Monday.
