One River Gallery, New Jersey's newest contemporary art gallery, will present "Art Effect", an art exhibition and competition for high school students in Bergen County.

Students from five area schools - Cresskill High School, Dwight Englewood High School, Northern Valley High School in Old Tappan and Demarest, and Tenafly High School - will be participating in the event, which will open at One River Gallery on Friday, May 31.

"We're thrilled to present an exhibition that includes artwork from some of the most talented art students in Bergen County," says Matt Ross, founder of One River Gallery. "One of our goals at One River is to create an inspirational creative environment for our community, and there's no better way to achieve this than by exhibiting compelling artwork from accomplished area teens."

Each of the five participating high schools will curate their own exhibitions at One River Gallery based on submissions from their students. The submissions will be in a wide range of media, including drawing and painting, photography, and 3D models.

"The Art Effect High School Competition is sure to attract people from across the county who'd like a first-hand look at the next generation of New Jersey artists," says Ross.

One River Gallery's Art Effect High School Competition will be held at One River Gallery, 49 N.Dean Street in Englewood. The exhibition will open on Friday, May 31, with a reception for students, their families and friends, and area art enthusiasts from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.
