Norm Lewis Hosts LIFEFORCE IN LATER YEARS Gala at Columbia University 5/7

Lifeforce in Later Years, a New York based non-profit that deploys community volunteers and resources to help senior age at home, will be holding it's 7th Gala Fundraiser on May 7th at the Columbia Low Library Rotunda. Broadway star, actor and baritone singer, Norm Lewis, who is best known for his roles in Porgy and Bess and The Phantom of the Opera will emcee and Peter Yarrow, of the Peter Paul and Mary folk music trio, will give a concert as part of the evening's program. The event starts at 6pm with a reception and dinner and program from 7-9pm. Tickets start at $250; Tables Start at $3500. Two individuals will be honored; Dr. Craig Smith, Surgeon-in-Chief , New York- Presbyterian Hospital and will be the inaugural recipient of the Herbert Pardes Inspire Award. And Linda Fried, Dean of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health will receive the Lily Legacy Leadership Award. Also included in the evening are a reception, silent auction, and mission appeal auction.

LiLY was founded by Irene Zola, Executive Director, "We're starting to reach our annual fundraising goals and we look forward to increasing our services to more seniors and educate others of this important mission," she said.

About Lifeforce in Later Years

Founded in 2010 and based in Manhattan, New York City, Life-force in Later years relies on community resources and a network of caring neighborhood volunteers to help New York's frail elderly stay safely in their homes and communities. Also known as LiLY, the organization also produces a visibility campaign each year that coincides with the International Day of the Old Person, called Love an Elder Week. This no-fee- for-seniors model has been recognized by many; the organization and the Founder, Irene Zola, have been recipient of numerous awards, including the CNN Hero and AARP Inspire Award.
