Noah Wyle's Dr. Robby Returns for First Day Back in THE PITT Season 3 Footage
New footage offers the first extended look at the ER drama's next chapter.
HBO has released the first footage from Season 3 of THE PITT, giving audiences an early look at Noah Wyle's Dr. Robby on his first day back at work. The clip, shared by TODAY, marks the initial substantial preview of the new season since HBO Max confirmed the show's January return.
THE PITT has built its reputation on a realistic, high-pressure depiction of emergency medicine inside a Pittsburgh hospital, following the frontline staff who work there. The series has drawn significant attention this past awards season, with cast members including Shawn Hatosy and Patrick Ball earning Emmy nominations for their work on the show.
Season 2 closed with Dr. Robby preparing to leave for a sabbatical after facing an ethical dilemma involving Dr. Al-Hashimi's medical history in the finale. The new footage picks up on the other side of that decision, showing Robby stepping back into the demands of the emergency room after time away, though HBO has not detailed what specifically brings him back or what condition he finds the hospital in.
The new season continues a pattern of steady promotional rollout for the show, following an earlier teaser that confirmed THE PITT's Season 3 premiere date. HBO has not yet released additional cast or plot details beyond the January premiere window and this first look at Robby's return.
