Nick Jr.'s Hawkins Joins 12/10 Ludlow Ladd Concert

Hillary Hawkins, known for such TV credits as New York Undercover and as host ("Robyn") of Nickelodeon's Nick Jr.-has joined the cast of Ludlow Ladd. Described as a "wonderfully warped holiday musical," it will be presented at TADA! on December 10 (Sunday @ 4 PM & 7 PM) and December 11 (Monday @ 7 PM).

The musical will also star Broadway's Stephen Berger (The Pajama Game, Into the Woods); Donna Lynne Champlin (Sweeney Todd, Hollywood Arms); Allison Fischer (Lestat, Night of the Hunter ); Michael Mahany (My Liberace, High School Musical); Andrew Rasmussen (York's Take Me Along);  Ben Rauch (TV- Ed as 'Eugene', Emerald Man); and Barbara Rosenblat (Secret Garden, Lucky Stiff ).  Featured are the "Ludlow Ladd Kooky Carolers:" Joe Berardi, David Janes, Jayson Kerr, David Ordanis, Susan Peirez, Stacie Perlman, Virginia Tuller, and Nancy Zoppi.

This staged concert will raise monies for The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation .

The show the prequel to Charlotte Sweet: the 1982 off-Broadway hit for which librettist Michael Colby and composer Gerald Jay Markoe received Drama Desk Award nominations.  This marks the premiere of an expanded version of "Ludlow," which has been produced successfully on radio (WBAI-FM) and regionally. 

Mixing elements of Charles Dickens, Gilbert & Sullivan, and Fractured Fairytales, Ludlow Ladd tells of an orphan searching for a home on Christmas Eve.  Sara Louise Lazarus (MAC and BackStage Bistro Award-winning Director) will direct.  Paul Staroba (assistant musical director, Grey Gardens) will be musical director, Michele Reisch (Charlotte Sweet) will design costumes, and Daryl Eisenstein is casting.  Producing is ShaRell Productions (Sandi Durell & Shari Upbin).   (Read more about Ludlow Ladd at its website: http://hometown.aol.com/ludlow29/ludlowladd.html).

All tickets are $30 - General Admission.  It's recommended reservations be made soon, especially for the Sunday performance @ 4 PM, which is filling up fast.
