The 2007 New York Innovative Theatre Awards, which celebrate the best of Off-Off-Broadway, will be hosted by Julie Halston Monday, September 24 at 7PM at FIT's Haft Auditorium (27th Street between 7th and 8th Ave, Building C).

The IT Awards are given annually to honor individuals and organizations who have achieved artistic excellence in Off-Off-Broadway theatre. The New York IT Awards recognizes the unique and essential role Off-Off-Broadway plays in contributing to American and global culture, and believes that publicly recognizing excellence in Off-Off-Broadway theatre will expand audience awareness and appreciation of the full New York theatre experience.

Scheduled to attend include Paul Adams, Carl Andress, Kathleen Chalfant, John Clancy, Mark Finley, Christopher Gatelli, Gary Garrison, Julie Halston, Jen Harris, Susan Hilferty, William M. Hoffman, Elena Holy, Leonard Jacobs, Natasha Katz, Mel Marvin, Nicky Paraiso, Fitz Patton, Tobin Ost, Speaker Christine Quinn, Leigh Silverman, Robert Lopez, Doric Wilson.

Plus 158 Total Nominees which represents 140 individual artists, 43 Theatre Companies and 54 productions.  Over the last 3 years the IT Awards has honored 393 artists, 91 Off-Off-Broadway Theatre Companies and 144 productions. Tickets for the ceremony will be $20 and sold at www.nyitawards.com.
