Mauricio Cedeno, in association with Algonquin Theater Productions/Armando Morales/Cultura UDG/Secretaria de Cultura de Jalisco brings back their award winning smash musical hit National Pastime to the historic Teatro Vivian Blumenthal in Guadalajara, Mexico for eight encore performances, starting December 7th.

Winner of three 2017 Met Jalisco Awards (Best Production, Best Director (Mauricio Cedeno) and Best Actress Giselle Restelli), National Pastime is the story of a small town in the 1930s which resorts to broadcasting fictional baseball games as a means to survive. To their astonishment, the team becomes wildly popular, so much so that Life Magazine wants to do a story on them. If only they existed!

Although the show is rooted in Depression-era America, National Pastime hit a home run in Guadalajara, playing to wildly enthusiastic audiences and loud ovations when it was produced there in May of 2017.

The book for National Pastime is by Tony Sportiello, the music and lyrics by Al Tapper. Directed by Mauricio Cedeno, performances are December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 at 7pm and December 10 and 17 at 6pm.

The cast features Victor Aceves, Vanessa Arroyo, Joaquin Romero, Blanca Montoya, Giselle Restelli, Agni González, Franz Bomthanley, Enrique Valdés Arce, Luisa Cortés, Alejandra Moreno and Mafer Santes. Eliud Ernandes is the music director, Franz Bomthanley and Beto Castillo the Vocal Directords. Publicity design is by Avion de papel.
