Michael Cerveris Set for Paul Sanchez Concert at Joe's Pub, 6/7

Tony winner Michael Cerveris is set to make an appearance at Paul Sanchez's upcoming Joe's Pub show on June 7. The event will be held at 9:30PM and tickets are $17.

Paul is a native New Orleanian and was a founding member of the band Cowboy Mouth (named by Paul inspired by a Sam Shepard play) and has been a fixture in his city's music scene for decades.

He was named New Orleans Songwriter of the Year in 2010, and was awarded, Best Song of the Year for Hey God and Best Folk/Rock Album for Stew Called New Orleans. He has a recurring role as himself in the new HBO series, "Treme," and was introduced in an episode titled, At The Foot Of Canal Street", after a song he wrote with long time collaborator, John Boutte'. John and Paul appear in the episode singing the song, Foot Of Canal Street. Boutte' and Sanchez also appear on the Grammy Nominated compilation album from the Treme series Treme: Music From The HBO Original Series, Season 1: Various Artists: MP3 Downloads. Boutte' and Sanchez were in episode one of season two of "Treme,", again singing the title song for the episode, Accentuate The Positive, as well as their own tune Sisters.

Paul and his collaborator Colman DeKay have written songs for a proposed musical, Nine Lives based on Dan Baum's NY Times best seller, following the lives of nine real life New Orleanians as they embrace the joys and face the struggles of life in the Crescent City in the years between Hurricanes Betsy and Katrina. An album of the songs was released May 1st on Mystery Street Records and includes 109 of New Orleans finest musicians, among them Allan Touissant, Irma Thomas, John Boutte, Wendell Pierce, Harry Schearer and Michael Cerveris.
