For the first time since their acquisition in 1949, a large number of the Metropolitan Museum's vast holdings from the Stieglitz Collection will be exhibited together. The exhibition will feature some 200 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by major European and American modernists, including Georgia O'Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Constantin Brancusi, Vasily Kandinsky, Francis Picabia, Gino Severini, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, Charles Demuth, and Arthur Dove. (October 13, 2011 - January 2, 2011)

Complementing this exhibition is Photographic Treasures from the Collection of Alfred Stieglitz--45 masterpieces from Stieglitz's collection of photography, including rarely seen works from the turn of the 20th century by Anne Brigman, Alvin Langdon Coburn, F. Holland Day, Gertrude Käsebier, Joseph Keiley, Heinrich Kühn, Edward Steichen, Clarence White, and others. (October 13, 2011 - February 26, 2012)
