Matt Doyle, Patina Miller, and More Set for Caissie Levy & David Are's Album Release Concert, 1/14

Composer David Are launches his double disc concept albums, A Few For Friends/Friends For A Few, with a night of live music and multimedia on Monday, January 14th at Galapagos Art Space, 7:30pm.

Caissie Levy opens the evening with a solo set from her new EP, With You, followed by live performances of David Are songs by Tony Award nominee Patina Miller (Sister Act), Matt Doyle (The Book Of Mormon), Leslie Odom Jr. (Smash, Leap of Faith), Lauren Molina (Marry Me A Little, Sweeney Todd), Kacie Sheik (Hair), Maddy and Paul Wyatt (Wyatt), Declan Bennett (American Idiot), Allison Case (Hands On A Hardbody), Steel Burkhardt (Hair), Matt DeAngelis (American Idiot), Blake Whyte (Mamma Mia), Nicolette Robinson (Perfect Couples), David Larsen (Hands On A Hardbody, Billy Elliot), Adam Lowitt (Executive Producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) and Andrew Kober (Hair), who will also host. The concert will include music videos by Paris Remillard starring Donell James Foreman, Larkin Bogan, and Liana Hunt. The event will be music directed by Dana Haynes and produced by New Make Do Productions.

With You is Caissie Levy’s debut solo EP, featuring acoustic arrangements of songs from her Broadway shows. It also includes a remix of “With You” from Ghost, produced by Glen Ballard & Dave Stewart, and a brand new song written by Eric Hutchinson. The album and concert will be music directed by Matt Hinkley.

A Few For Friends/Friends For A Few are double disc companion albums - one acoustic, one electronic - featuring Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel (The Book Of Mormon, Hair, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Matt Doyle (The Book Of Mormon), Richard Fleeshman (Ghost), Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Mormon), Celisse Henderson (Godspell), Caissie Levy (Ghost, Hair, Wicked) and more.

General admission is $10 and reserved seats are $25. VIP tickets are available for $40 with priority seating and include signed copies of all three albums: With You, A Few For Friends, and Friends For A Few.

Galapagos Art Space hosts the event on Monday, January 14, 2013. Doors at 6:30pm, Show at 7:30pm. Galapagos is located at 16 Main Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn - take the A/C train to High Street, F train to York Street, or 2/3 train to Clark Street.
