Constantine Maroulis, Angel Reed for UNSELFIE

New York--Tony Award nominated rock star Constantine Maroulis ("Rock of Ages," "Jekyll and Hyde") and former "Rock of Ages" co-star Angel Reed have joined showband singer-graphic novelist Arnel Arcedo's UNSELFIE campaign to raise funds for 13-year-old John Carlo Zaparita and his siblings, Angelo, 11, and Adrian, 6.

John Carlo and his younger brothers, who hail from Bauang, La Union in the Philippines, have been struggling to make ends meet after being abandoned by their mother more than a year ago and their father two months ago.

"I've organized this fundraising campaign to help John Carlo and his brothers, who have been abandoned by their parents and mistreated in their young lives. In my spare time, I do pencil sketches of Facebook profile photos for a donation of at least $5.00 each," Arcedo told BroadwayWorld.com.

"I once performed at the benefit show 'Rock-N-Roll Debauchery,' led by Angel Reed's Studio 7Arts. So when I asked Angel and Constantine to help John Carlo, they didn't think twice about helping the kid," Arcedo added.

For barely three weeks now, the UNSELFIE campaign has made $600.00.

All donations are coursed through GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc. USA, whose television documentary series titled "Motorcycle Diaries," produced in the Philippines, has recently featured the heartbreaking plight of John Carlo and his siblings.
