Luker, Baldwin, Steggert, et al. to Appear in 'Broadway Close Up' Concerts

The Kaufman Center has announced performers for its 'Broadway Close Up' series at Merkin Concert Hall. 

The September 20 concert, 'Ridiculously Talented!: Songs by Composers & Lyricists You Probably Don't Know but Should,' will feature work by new theater composers and lyricists.  Bill Finn will host, and the cast will include Sally Wilfert, Desmond Green, and Wilson Bridges.

The October 4 concert, 'Fire and Rain- The Songs of James Taylor,' will pay tribute to James Taylor's music.  The cast will include Heidi Blickenstaff, Michael Winther, Will Chase, and Benjamin Schrader.

The October 25 concert, 'Off-Broadway Close Up,' will provide an overview of great Off-Broadway musicals, including THE FANTASTICKS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and THE LAST FIVE YEARS.  The cast will include Tom Jones, Josh Grisetti, Bobby Steggert, Jeffry Denman, Donna English, Susan Blackwell, Christine Pedi, Jason Robinson, and Christopher Sieber.

The November 15 concert, 'All the Things You Are- Jerome Kern,' will pay tribute to the great songs of Jerome Kern and will feature arrangements by David Loud.  The cast will include Rebecca Luker, Kate Baldwin, Matthew Scott, and Graham Rowat.

The December 6 concert, 'Bound for Broadway- 10th Anniversary Celebration,' will feature two new shows headed for Broadway, as well as highlights of shows featured in previous Bound for Broadway concerts.  Liz Callaway will host, and the cast will include Bobby Lopez, Lisa Lambert, Greg Morrison, Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey, JoAnne Bogart, and Eric Rockwell.

All concerts will be held at 8:00pm, except for the November concert which will be held at 7:58pm.  For more information, visit kaufman-center.org.
