Kouros Gallery to Present Robert Langstaff's Work 9/8-10/1
Kouros Gallery is pleased to announce its debut exhibition for the Pennsylvania based abstract painter, Robert Langstaff.
While pursuing his post graduate degree from Ohio State University and starting a family, he embarked upon a career in the arts, but it would take him another 28 years to become a full time painter -- in 2005 -- focusing both on oils whose sensual colors and textures he relished, and on acrylics since they allowed him to mix quick brush strokes with heavy impasto painting.
"Creating art requires constant work and desire," Langstaff says. "To keep it in a vacuum gives it no meaning. As an artist, I believe art is a message, it speaks for itself. Therefore, my art and the interaction with it becomes the statement."
The exhibition will open with a reception for the artist on Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
