Steven Yuhasz will direct a concert reading of a new musical revue he conceived called Lover, Liar, Lady…the women of kander and ebb. The reading will kick off the June Play Reading Series on Monday, June 5th at 7pm, at the Studio of the Rich Forum in the Stamford Center for the Arts, Stamford, CT.

"Yuhasz began with a canon of 85 songs with music and lyrics by the legendary John Kander and Fred Ebb and selected approximately 32 songs illuminating the dreams and reality of the passionate women who inhabited their Broadway shows, thematically connecting their lives. These songs by the theatre's premiere musical poets and the longest running writing team in musical theatre, explore the endless possibilities of survival these women face in their complicated lives," state press notes.

Directed and Conceived by Yuhasz for a cast of five women, with musical direction and arrangements by Randy Cohen, the reading will feature Rachel deBenedet (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Nine), Tracy Jai Edwards (Hairspray, The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Val Moranto (Tommy, Tusk) Kate Shindle (upcoming Legally Blonde, Cabaret) and Kay Walbye (Urinetown, Titanic). The reading will be accompanied by a 3 piece combo.

In August, Lover, Liar, Lady...the women of kander and ebb will be presented by the New Provincetown Theatre Company in Provincetown, MA. Guy Wolf, the Producing Artistic Director, said "When Steven told me about his idea for the revue of the women of Kander and Ebb, we committed to a date on the spot. Our audiences love Kander and Ebb." The production will play in Provincetown from August 22 to Sept 3, 2006 with performances Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30pm. Steven Yuhasz will direct with musical supervision by Randy Cohen, musical direction by John Thomas, choreography by Terry Norgeot, sets and lighting by Kevin Hardy and Costumes by Carol Sherry.
