John Treacy Egan, currently starring as Chef Louis in Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, will perform at Barnes & Noble as part of their "Any Wednesday" series on Wednesday, May 28th at 6pm.

Egan will perform songs from his debut CD, Count the Stars, which is available now on iTunes and Cdbaby.com.  Count the Stars is a collection of standards and Broadway anthems including "On the Street Where You Live," "This is the Moment" and "How Glory Goes."

Prior to his role as Chef Louis in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Egan was seen on Broadway in The Producers and in the original cast of Jekyll & Hyde.  He has appeared Off-Broadway in the original cast of such shows as When Pigs Fly! and Bat Boy-the musical. THE LITTLE MERMAID takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she's the girl with the perfect voice.

Led by the award-winning director, Francesca Zambello, some of the theatre's most innovative artists have collaborated to create THE LITTLE MERMAID.  The score features the classic songs:  "Part of Your World," "Kiss the Girl" and the Academy Award®-winning Best Original Song, "Under the Sea," composed by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken and his longtime collaborator, the late Howard Ashman, as well as 10 new songs by Mr. Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.  The book for the new musical is by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning playwright Doug Wright.

The original Broadway cast recording of THE LITTLE MERMAID was released by Walt Disney Records on Tuesday, February 26th and debuted at #26 on the Billboard 200.  The album is available now at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, in music stores nationwide and at online retailers.
