Actor John Stamos is in talks to play a reccuring role in Season Two the hit Fox series GLEE, Deadline.com reports today.  According to the report, Stamos will play a dentist who goes out with Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays), the dirt-fearing guidance counselor.

John Stamos starred in the 2009-2010 Broadway revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE.  He has also appeared on Broadway in CABARET, NINE, and HOW TO SUCCEED...  Stamos is well-known for his performance as Uncle Jesse on the television series 'Full House.'  He also appeared as a regular on 'ER' and frequently drums for The Beach Boys on tour.

Recent winner of the People's Choice Award for Best New Comedy and Golden Globe winner for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical), GLEE, the new musical comedy series, follows an optimistic teacher who - against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach - attempts to save McKinley High's Glee Club from obscurity while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential.

The show, which also garnered Golden Globe recognition, stars Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Jenna Ushkowitz.  It has featured many Broadway stars in guest or recurring roles, among them Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Neil Patrick Harris.

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer.

GLEE's season finale airs tonight, June 8, on FOX at 9pm.
