Emmy-winning comedian John Mulaney brings his sharp, observational stand-up to the Merriam Theater on Saturday, May 16 at 8p.m. The former Saturday Night Live writer and actor has developed a comedic style that draws humble, self-deprecating, and humorous anecdotes from his journey into adulthood, varying from late night revelry to more serious discoveries.

"John Mulaney continues the line of stellar comedic performances we have attracted to Philadelphia at the Kimmel Center campus this season," said Kimmel Center President and CEO Anne Ewers. "Philadelphia has become a prime destination for comedians to perform and connect with their fans."

One of the most sought after comedians and actors, Mulaney is well-known for co-creating Bill Hader's Stefan character and served as a "Weekend Update" correspondent on SNL. Mulaney began his career in New York's East Village as part of the two-man Oh Hello Show with comedian Nick Kroll. He has since performed everywhere from Ireland, to Australia, to Grand Isle, Nebraska. He was named one of Variety's '10 Comics to Watch' in 2008--the same year he began working at SNL. Mulaney's first comedy special, The Top Part, was released in 2009 and reviewed as "a finely-crafted piece of work," by The Huffington Post. He released his second Comedy Central special and album New in Town in 2012 and most recently was the creator, writer, star, and executive producer of the 2014 FOX comedy, Mulaney.

Tickets are available from $29.50-$35. Tickets can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at kimmelcenter.org, at the Kimmel Center box office at Broad & Spruce Streets (open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
