International chanteuse Adrienne Haan performs the music of Kurt Weill at the Metropolitan Room on Wednesday, September 28 at 7:00pm. In this soirée, Haan focuses on the works of Kurt Weill and brings to life his most beloved songs.

This program is a musical voyage that portrays his songs in their original character, all featured in special arrangements crafted for her under the musical direction of pianist Richard Danley and joined by Dan Levinson and his Novembergruppe Quintet which includes violinist Jonathan Russell, guitarist Vinny Raniolo, Jared Engel on bass and tuba, and Mike Campenni on drums. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street in New York City. Tickets range from $24-$115 plus a two drink minimum and are available by phone at 212-206-0440 or www. Directed by award winning Barry Kleinbort, Haan begins Weill's story in Berlin during the 1920s and 30s with his famous works of the Weimar years; then on to the time he spent in exile in Paris highlighting some of his lesser known, but glorious French oeuvres. Haan's witty and entertaining presentation also includes his 1940s American successes. The program is under the patronage of German UN Ambassador Harald Braun.

Hailed as "An all-around entertainer of the highest calibre," award-winning Adrienne Haan is one of Europe's and America's most electrifying concert and cabaret stars. With a diverse repertoire that ranges from chanson to jazz, to blues, klezmer, and Broadway, Haan has a special passion for the music of the 1920s and 30s. This fall Haan made her Carnegie Hall debut to a sold out audience in a special program titledTehorah, celebrating the 50th anniversary of German-Israeli diplomatic relations. Recent highlights include the debut of her new show, Rock le Cabaret!, a rock interpretation of French chansons by Brel, Piaf and Aznavour at the Cutting Room, and appearances at the Neue Galerie's Café Sabarsky, and at the Santa Fe Jewish Film Festival. Haan's recent encore performance of Berlin to Broadway-Transatlantic at the Metropolitan Room was praised as "a moving performance where Haan establishes a close rapport with the audience through her informative, funny, and often moving commentary between sets." Her previous appearance at The Metropolitan Room in February garnered Haan a standing ovation and an invitation to return as artist-in-residence. Her latest CD Berlin, Mon Amour, hailed as "engaging and unique," is a tribute to 1920s and 30s Germany.
