Principal cast members of In The Heights will celebrate the release of their Original Broadway Cast recording with a Thursday, June 5th, in-store performance at Virgin Megastore in Times Square, 1540 Broadway, at 46th Street.

The special event begins at 5pm, and will feature songs performed by cast members. A post-performance CD signing will feature all 11 principals:

Nominated for 13 TONY Awards -- including Best Musical and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) -- 'In The Heights' features Latin, Salsa and Hip-Hop-infused music, conceived and written by emerging superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda. Ghostlight Records will release the OCR on June 3rd, as a 23-track, two-CD package, complete with a 68-page booklet containing cast photos and song lyrics.  The double album was produced by Andres Levin (proclaimed"the master chef of Urban fusion" by The LA Times,) and by Ghostlight President Kurt Deutsch.

'In The Heights' is the quintessential New York musical, about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.
 
Conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda; book by Quiara Alegría Hudes; music and lyrics by Mr. Miranda; Orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman; 'In The Heights' is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler; music director, Alex Lacamoire.  Broadway open March 9, 2008.

'In The Heights' is currently playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. The show's three lead producers, off and on Broadway, are Kevin McCollum,Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman.  McCollum and Seller are also the producers of Rent and Avenue Q.
 
The album is produced by Andres Levin. Proclaimed "the master chef of Urban fusion" by the LA Times, Andres Levin has established himself as one of the world's top multi-cultural young film composers and music producers. His distinctive sound that developed over multiple albums for the Red Hot Organization has since carried Levin to even greater critical acclaim with his own Grammy-nominated band YERBA BUENA, his continued role as producer for many leading Latin & World music artists, and most recently, as a film composer for several motion pictures- including El Cantante, Ladron que roba Ladron, Borderland and more.
