In Hurricane's Aftermath Theatre Under the Stars Cancels Shows Through Sept. 22

The story of THE COLOR PURPLE is one of redemption and triumph in the face of adversity. At the urging of Houston's city officials and the Houston Police Department, performances of THE COLOR PURPLE scheduled for the week of September 16 - 21 will be CANCELED. Theatre Under The Stars values the safety and security of patrons and will abide by the city's request.

Theatre Under The Stars will make every effort to accommodate ticket holders. At this time, ticket holders may exchange their tickets for any other show in the 2008 - 2009 season, they may donate their tickets back to TUTS as a non-profit organization and receive a letter certifying the value of the contribution for tax purposes, or they may request a refund. For information regarding rescheduling canceled tickets or obtaining ticket refunds please call the TUTS box office at 713-558- TUTS (8887).

Theatre Under The Stars truly apologizes for this inconvenience and wishes to thank patrons for their continued support and understanding. "Houston has been through a lot this week and we look forward to being able to provide a diversion. The Color Purple is about overcoming hardship and that message is relevant right now. We only wish we could have open sooner," says John Breckenridge, president and CEO of TUTS.

TUTS is currently awaiting authorization to open performances of The Color Purple.
