It was announced today that the first ever "Variety's Power of Women" luncheon will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on September 24, 2009.

In conjunction with their annual "Women's Impact Report," and in partnership with Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network, Variety, the entertainment industry trade publication, will bring together an intimate group of Hollywood's most philanthropically impactful women.

The women have been selected as Variety's "Lifetime Impact Honorees" as they have made a significant difference to their chosen causes.

The exclusive luncheon will host 400 invite-only guests made up of Hollywood insiders and talent, who will be invited to celebrate, support and pay tribute to the philanthropic efforts of these dynamic women. The afternoon will also include a VIP pre-ceremony cocktail reception and an interactive "Charity Bazaar" designed to engage guests with the featured charities and participating brand sponsors.

This year's honorees include four-time Grammy winner Christina Aguilera (for her work on behalf of World Hunger Relief), Emmy-winner Christina Applegate (Right Action for Women), Golden Globe-nominee Maria Bello (Save Darfur Coalition), Oscar-nominated Anne Hathaway (Service Nation), star of the Emmy-award-winning drama, "Mad Men," January Jones (Oceana), and three-time Academy Award nominee Sigourney Weaver (The Flea Theater).

Producer Laura Ziskin and long-time philanthropist Sherry Lansing round out the inaugural class, both honored on behalf of their organization, Stand Up 2 Cancer. Comedian and actress Jane Lynch is set to emcee the event.

"We are thrilled to announce the inaugural Variety's Power of Women event, honoring an incredible group of women who are dedicated to utilizing their positions in the entertainment industry to further awareness and affect change for various causes," said Michelle Sobrino, associate publisher of Variety. "We are proud to partner with Andrea Wong and Lifetime, as they represent one of the most powerful and innovative women's media brands."

Variety's Power of Women 2009 is presented by Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network and sponsored by Yum! Brands, Coca-Cola, OfficeMax and the Loreen Arbus Foundation.
