Green Room Radio Launches Podcast Including Theater Show

The new phenomenon of Podcasting goes a step further come Spring 2005 with the launch of Green Room Radio, the first online podcast station covering the world of arts and entertainment. The first of it's kind, Green Room Radio aims to produce a wide variety of shows, each dedicated to a different part of the entertainment world. Upon launching, Green Room Radio will have 4 different shows in production, covering the worlds of music, DVD, books, and an interview show.

Digital Get Down, a show which covers the areas of DVD and home theatre, will feature, on it's first episode an interview with Shane Carruth, director of Primer, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. The show will premiere twice a month, and along with interviews will feature DVD reviews and feature pieces. The show will launch mid-April.

Clef Notes, Green Room Radio's look into the world of music will launch with an in-depth look into the entire REM catalog on the Warner Brothers label celebrating the re-issue of the entire catalog in a special edition 2- disc format. Other upcoming episodes will feature interviews with John Trickett, CEO of 5.1 Entertainment, discussing the new DualDisc format, and popular jazz vocalist Natalie Douglas on her new Nina Simone tribute album. The show will launch in the beginning of May.

Read Em' & Weep, which you guessed it, covers the book world, will also launch early May. The first show features an interview with best selling author and music journalist, Greil Marcus, discussing his new book, "Like A Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan at the Crossroads," a look into the recording and history of one of the most famous songs in rock & roll history. Episodes will feature both interviews and reviews.

On The Line, the show that inspired Green Room Radio, will continue as the centerpiece of the station. Our first 4 shows included those oOn The Line is an interview show that features interviews with artists and creative types from all different areas of the arts.f 2 broadway stars, Sara Kramer & Kaitlin Hopkins, the head of one of the most swinging parties in New York, "Cast Party @ Birdland," Jim Caruso, and multi-award winning vocal group, Toxic Audio. On The Line will air a new show up to 4 times a month.

Started by Erich Bergen & Dylan Hoeffler, students at the Drama program at the North Carolina School Of The Arts, Green Room Radio aims to cover the entertainment world in a way that is rarely seen these days. "I got sick of seeing interviews with some of my favorite performers and artists that would ask questions about their hair color, or who they were sleeping with," said Erich Bergen, who also hosts the shows. "I wanted to know what inspired them do their work, and how they went about doing their work."

Each show will be available for download separately from the website (www.greenroomradio.com) and all of Green Room Radio will also be available through an RSS feed (http://greenroomradio.libsyn.com/rss). The RSS feed is for those who have a Podcast program such as IPodderX, PodSafe, IPodder, RSSRadio. These programs enable one to subscribe to their favorite Podcasts, which check automatically for new episodes of their favorite shows and downloads them automatically to their computer, iPod, or other portable MP3 device.
