The season one finale of "Something New," a musical theatre podcast, went live on August 5th, with special guest artist Gay Marshall (La Cage tour, Capital Rep's Jacques Brel).

Deemed "new and noteworthy" on iTunes, "Something New" is a biweekly podcast that dissects what it means to be a working, multifaceted artist in America. Each guest brings multiple talents to the theatre industry -- from photography to vocal training to massage therapy -- and their careers as musical theatre performers have only been enriched by them.

Hosted by award-winning musical theatre writer Joel B. New, each episode concludes with a premiere demo recording from one of New's latest musical projects, sung by the guest artist. So far, a total of 24 songs have premiered on the podcast.

Past guest artists have included Liz Asti, Jennifer Sanchez, Billy Bustamante, Leslie Henstock, Jen Waldman, Matt Castle, Stephanie Sine, Liz Ulmer, Roy Lightner, Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina (aka The Skivvies), Melanie Kann, Stephanie Joiner, Chris York, Christine Paterson, and David Alan Thornton.
