History will repeat itself and so will the laughs as the Emmy-winning Comedy Central series DRUNK HISTORY transports viewers back in time to hang with the founding fathers in an upcoming HAMILTON-inspired episode. In the show, an inebriated Lin-Manuel Miranda narrates the rivalry between Alexander Hamilton, played by Alia Shawkat and Aaron Burr, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza.

Lin-Manuel took to Twitter today to share some hilarious details on the filming of the episode:

In the interview with EW, Drunk History's Shawkat says of the episode, "It felt so meant to be. Hamilton was just everywhere in my life. I even sent a picture to my friend who took me to the show, like 'So now I am Hamilton, that's what's happened.'"

She continues, "Me and Aubrey loved the outfits. We talked about how different we felt. We were acting different, walking different, interacting with the crew differently. There was something trippy about being dressed like a man all day. It looked kinda cool, kinda hot. I looked like a male version of my mom."

According to Shawkat, Drunk History creator Derek Waters would play the HAMILTON cast recording at full volume in between takes and even checked in with Miranda himself via Face Time. "Lin knows the history backwards and forwards," she says. "He used [Drunk History] to tell different specifics of the story, so it's not like we're watching the same stuff. He told the specifics of personal fights they got in and other stuff that still ties into the overall story of Hamilton, but stuff I didn't know."

The new season of DRUNK HISTORY premieres on Comedy Central September 27th.
