According to Michael Riedel of the New York Post, the upcoming 'Dreamgirls' revival will be making its debut all the way in Seoul, Korea.

As per Mr. Riedel, "John Breglio, the theater lawyer and producer who oversees the estate of "Dreamgirls" creator Michael Bennett, has struck a deal with the Seoul Theater Association, which will present the show in South Korea and make a substantial investment - about $4 million - in the Broadway production, sources say. Myung-Soo Park, the chairman of the Seoul Theater Association and the Cameron Mackintosh of Korea, will head up the show there, though you can be sure that Breglio, a hands-on type who produced the replica revival of "A Chorus Line," will hover over it. The Seoul production is being put together by Broadway veterans. It will tour several US cities before landing on Broadway in the 2009-2010 season."

"Set in the turbulent early 1960s to mid-70s, Dreamgirls follows the rise of a trio of women -- Effie (Hudson), Deena (Knowles) and Lorrell (Rose) -- who have formed a promising girl group called The Dreamettes.  At a talent competition, they are discovered by an ambitious manager named Curtis Taylor, Jr. (Foxx), who offers them the opportunity of a lifetime: to become the back-up singers for headliner James "Thunder" Early (Murphy).  Curtis gradually takes control of the girls' look and sound, eventually giving them their own shot in the spotlight as The Dreams.  That spotlight, however, begins to narrow in on Deena, finally pushing the less attractive Effie out altogether.  Though the Dreams become a crossover phenomenon, they soon realize that the cost of fame and fortune may be higher than they ever imagined," state press materials.
