It was back in June of 2015 when superstar country singer/songwriter and one-time (so far) Broadway composer/lyricist Dolly Parton purchased the four year old Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show theatre, expanding on her entertainment entrepreneurship that includes the Dollywood theme park, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede dinner theatre, and Dollywood's Splash Country waterpark; all located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

After much thought, the name for the recently-acquired venue that's on schedule to open in May, 2016 has been chosen: Dolly Parton's Lumberjack Adventure Dinner & Show.

"I'm truly excited to be working on a new show for families to enjoy while they are in town," Parton stated in a press release. "We did a lot of work to come up with the name of the new show and I think we found the perfect fit. My creative team has been working to produce an exciting show which will showcase the amazing competitive skills of our cast. We have a few new surprises that will certainly make this an 'adventure' for every member of the family."

"Facility construction is well underway," states Jim Rule, Chief Executive Officer of World Choice Investments, LLC. "We are extremely pleased with the progress to this point. We currently have a number of renovations planned for both the interior and exterior of the facility."

Plans also are in place to remove the former Regency Inn to provide additional parking and to make the dinner attraction more visible from the Parkway, the major thoroughfare in Pigeon Forge.

Guests will be served a hearty lumberjack meal, with numerous new menu items currently being tested.

Dolly Parton's music career began as a child performer in 1959 and she has achieved iconic stature in American pop culture. Her 1980 hit, "9 to 5," served as the opening number of her Broadway musical, based on the same-named film where she co-starred with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.

Parton's score for the 2009 musical version of 9 TO 5 earned her a Tony nomination and a spot in the ceremony's opening medley.
