He's America's fastest rising pop-culture figure and his newest musical, HAMILTON, is being hailed as one of the country's great works of contemporary art, so when Lin-Manuel Miranda makes an appearance, people pay attention.

He's used his celebrity to help gain support for measures to address Puerto Rico's financial crisis and to urge lawmakers to take action against the use of bots by ticket scalpers, but has declined to voice an opinion regarding the current candidates for President of The United States.

As reported by Politico, operatives planning next month's Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center have reached out to Lin-Manuel Miranda as one of the "young pop artists" sought to perform as the party takes over television's evening hours from July 25th through 28th.

"The nights are three-hour prime time TV shows," Clinton fundraiser and public relations executive Ken Sunshine tells Politico. "Entertainment and adding excitement become a key part of it, as opposed to hard-core politics. The one that understands that is Trump, except that's all he seems to understand."

Miranda's father, Luis Miranda, says there is no truth to the rumor and spokespeople for both the Clinton campaign and the DNC have declined to comment.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is scheduled to give his last performance in the Broadway run of HAMILTON on July 9th, after which he will be filming Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns" with Emily Blunt.
