John McCracken and Christopher Williams
ADAA: The Art Show
Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street, Booth B2
March 3-7

David Zwirner will present the work of two American artists, featuring sculptures by John McCracken and photographs by Christopher Williams.

Associated with 1960s Minimalism and Southern California's "Light and Space" movement, McCracken's monochromatic, geometric sculptures are meticulously crafted and polished by hand to appear at once physical and immaterial. His work was recently featured in the gallery's highly-acclaimed exhibition, Primary Atmospheres. On view at ADAA are small-scale pedestal works by the artist.

Williams's oeuvre takes photography itself as its subject. One of his generation's leading conceptual photographers, Williams's work comprises a critical investigation of photography and, more broadly, the vicissitudes of industrial culture. His recent solo exhibition at Bergen Kunsthall in Norway continued his ongoing project, For Example: Dix-Huit Leçons Sur La Société Industrielle. On view at ADAA are recent works from 2008-2009.
