DCINY to Present Pianist Ian Gindes at Carnegie Hall on May 30

On May 30 at 7PM, DCINY presents acclaimed American pianist Dr. Ian Gindes in an evening performance at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. An officer in the National Guard, Dr. Gindes honors Memorial Day Weekend with a performance of works by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Copland, and Wild.

In 2016, Dr. Gindes released his new album, American Visions, celebrating American classical composers from the 20th Century to today. The album has been featured on radio stations throughout the U.S. and around the world, including American Veterans Radio, Classique One Paris, WWFM, WILL, KAHM, SiriusXM Symphony Hall, and Chicago's WFMT. Gindes' work was applauded by reviewers at Fanfare magazine, stating, "[He] performs American music with a sensitivity we usually associate with renditions of the European Romantic masters."

Dr. Gindes serves as a commissioned officer in the United States Army National Guard. Following in this spirit of service to neighbor and country, he has given highly publicized performances to honor and raise funds for families of soldiers and victims of terrorism and war. His performances of works by American composers, including Copland and Gershwin, in addition to Romantic period masters, such as Schumann, Liszt, and Chopin, are inspired by his service.
