Cockpit In Court Summer Theatre Presents COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN
Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, in residence at CCBC Essex, will perform Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean by playwright Ed Graczyk, July 21 through August 5. All performances will be held at the Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, Cabaret Theatre, on the Essex campus, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.
Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean is set in a West Texas small-town dime store, where a group of women gather
for the 20th anniversary of the death of James Dean. They were teenagers when Dean, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson arrived to film
the epic western Giant in the nearby town of Marfa, bringing excitement and glamor with them. Since then, the town has dried up and
so have the dreams of many of the women. The reunion is their opportunity to relive happier days, but the arrival of an oddly familiar
stranger sets off a confrontation that unearths long hidden secrets and exposes bitter disappointments. The dingy five-and-dime comes
alive with echoes from the past as their younger selves appear to remind them of the choices they made on September 30, 1955 - the night
James Dean died - that led them here.
The Cockpit in Court cast of nine actors will be directed by Linda Chambers. Cast members are Liz Boyer Hunnicutt, Sarah Jones, Laura Malkus, Regina Rose, Jake Schwartz, Jennifer Skarzinski, Karen Starliper, Katie Thayer and Laura Weeldryer.
General admission tickets are $17 and tickets for seniors are $15. Tickets are available at the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) or online at TicketReturn.com. A group rate of $13 per ticket is available for parties of 20 or more.
