BROADWAY USA! and Biribin Entertainment will present a staged reading of a new musical adaptation of Dumas fils' tragic love story "CAMILLE" as part of the New York Musical Festival. There will be two performances of the musical on October 1st at 1 PM and 4:30 at the 45th Street Theatre, 354 West 45th Street, west of 8th Avenue.

"CAMILLE", based on Alexandre Dumas fil's 'La Dame Aux Camelias," has music, lyrics and adaptation by Julia Gregory with additional libretto by Renato Biribin Jr. who is also the Director. Ms. Gregory is Musical Director.

The musical tells the story of Marguerite Gautier, also known as Camille, a French courtesan, who learns the true meaning of love in her last months of life. Set in Paris in 1875, this timeless story of love and forgiveness, explores Marguerite's discovery of true love as she is dying. Like the sweeping Les Miz and the passionate Romeo and Juliet, the star-crossed lovers come together only to be split apart by the conventions of society.

CHRISTIANE NOLL, who plays 'Camille' and is currently making her operatic debut with the National Opera of Washington singing 'Valencienne' in "The Merry Widow" with Placido Domingo, gained Broadway fame playing 'Emma' in "Jekyll & Hyde.

The cast of CAMILLE features ANDRE SOLOMON GLOVER as Jacques Duval (Broadway/Tour Joe in Showboat), Mark Ledbetter as Armand Duval (Blitzstein's opera Regina opposite Patti LuPone at the Kennedy Center), William Thomas EVANS as Baron Varville (Broadway: The Scarlet Pimpernel), DIANE BROWNSTONE as Prudence (Broadway: Parade), DANIEL GUZMAN as Gaston (Nat'l Tour: Jesus Christ Superstar; Broadway: Les Miz) and SYLVIA RHYNE as Julie (Broadway: Sweeney Todd (Johanna); Sound of Music (Mother Abbes); Tours: Christine in Phantom of the Opera) plus a talented ensemble including Jamie LaVerdiere, Roland Rusinek, Rommy Sandhu, Christopher Yongsman, Ellery Beggs, Amber Dow, Carrie Frymer, Nikka Lanzarone, Whitney Vigil, Emily Garcia and Tracy J. Wholf.

JULIA GREGORY (music, lyrics and book) began her career as a musician, winning honors as a concert pianist. She studied at San Francisco's ACT and the Oakland Ballet School before appearing in the Broadway and/or touring companies of SHOWBOAT, JOSEPH/DREAMCOAT, DAMN YANKEES, MY FAIR LADY, A CHORUS LINE, WEST SIDE STORY and MAME. In addition to adapting CAMILLE, she has also written a chamber musical based on Jane Austen's "Persuasion".

Director and co-librettist RENATO BIRIBIN, who has directed and acted professionally for several years, is also a free-lance writer, screenwriter and novelist based in LA. Together Julia and Renato have written a hard rock musical based on Bram Stokers classic novel called "DRACULA: Sex, Blood and Rock 'N Roll," as well as a 1920's musical based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's "BERNICE BOBS HER HAIR." Their most recent collaboration is the up-coming off-Broadway production of "Felix & Fanny" based on the lives of Felix Mendelssohn and his talented sister Fanny.
