Composers Concordance continues its commitment to adventurous new music with a compelling solo cello performance by Sahara von Hattenberger on Friday, June 5 at 7:00 PM at Gallery MC.

This intimate program showcases the expressive and technical range of the solo cello through a selection of contemporary works by leading composers in the new music scene. The evening highlights innovative compositional voices and bold musical storytelling, brought to life by von Hattenberger's dynamic artistry.

The program will include:

A Special Education by Randall Woolf — a striking and thought-provoking work based on the story "Flowers For Algernon, made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The Circadian Calendar, Book Two for Solo 'Cello, Op. 35 by George N. Gianopoulos — an exploration of temporal cycles and internal pulse, reflecting the rhythms that govern human and natural systems.

Holy Human Stupidity, Batman by Gene Pritsker — a characteristically witty and incisive work blending humor with sharp commentary, delivered through inventive cello techniques and theatrical flair.

Sahara is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of New York, and is the co-founder of Duo Étrange (Cello+Soprano). Duo Étrange released their debut album through ATMA Classique, Canada's most prestigious classical label, featuring 5 new commissions with a debut at Montréal's famous Salle Bourgie series.
