The Candie's Foundation created a national dialogue on May 1st, the National Day to prevent teen pregnancy. The Foundation's initiatives garnered over 200 million impressions with its message of teen pregnancy prevention. The Candie's Foundation partnered with Thunderclap, a social media platform that programs a tweet and Facebook post to be sent out automatically at a set time. The message, 2,000 teenage girls will get pregnant today. I stand with @CandiesOrg #NoTeenPreg was sent out by social media powerhouses: Chris Brown, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lucy Hale, Bella Thorne, Jenny McCarthy, Audrina Patridge, and others. This was the 2nd largest Thunderclap of all time surpassing Comic Relief #RND and The White House #NowIsTheTime to act Thunderclaps.

In addition, The Candie's Foundation hosted its 2nd annual #NoTeenPreg Twitter Chat with over 52,000 Twitter users participating in the online conversation including celebrities Bella Thorne, Jasmine Villegas, and Maci Bookout, MTV's Teen Mom.

In honor of the National Day, The Candie's Foundation unveiled a new PSA campaign starring singer Carly Rae Jepsen, most known for her breakout hit "Call Me Maybe" which set the media world on fire. The Candie's Foundation develops and places PSA campaigns to raise awareness about teen pregnancy prevention. The Candie's Foundation is unique; using celebrities, social media and educational PSA videos to engage teens. Past celebrities include Lea Michele, Vanessa Hudgens, Fergie, Hilary Duff and Hayden Panettiere among others.

The Candie's Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to shape the way youth in America think about teen pregnancy and parenthood. We are an operating foundation rather than a grant-making foundation. The foundation develops and runs communication campaigns to raise awareness about, and motivate teens to prevent, teen pregnancy. The foundation was launched in June 2001 by Neil Cole. For additional information visit www.candiesfoundation.org.
