Dez Duron brings his signature crooner style, as seen in Broadway’s Maybe Happy Ending to Joe’s Pub. A night filled with the American Songbook, Broadway favorites, modern classics as well as new original music all performed with a beautiful lively jazz band.

AT THIS PERFORMANCE… returns to The Green Room 42 featuring Standbys, Understudies and Alternates from SCHMIGADOON!; THE LOST BOYS; TWO STRANGERS (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK); HAMILTON and 1776 on Monday, July 20th. the critically acclaimed series allows the performers to showcase their versatility and share anecdotes about their experiences. The series was acknowledged in BroadwayWorld's List of "Best Club, Cabaret and Concert" and has been called "an artistic triumph that all should seek out and see". Performers scheduled for the 198th edition are Kaitlyn Davidson (Understudy for the roles of Melissa Gimble and Mildred Layton in Schmigadoon!), Mehry Eslaminia (Understudy or the roles of Martha Jefferson, Dr. Lymam Hall. Edwatd Rutledge and Samuel Chase in 1776), Carissa Gaughran (Understudy for the role of Star in The Lost Boys), Jana Larell Glover (Standby for the role of Robin in Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Christian Thompson (Understudy for the roles of Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson and King George in Hamilton) and Colin Trudell (Understudy for the role of Michael Emerson in The Lost Boys). The evening will also feature a Guest Appearance by David Aron Damane. Musical Director/Accompanist will be Jon Balcourt,

Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp: In Resonance at 54 Below

Common and Special Guests To Honor the Social Justice Legacy of Harry Belafonte at Prospect Park

The Action Lab’s Harry Belafonte Fellowship brings one of hip-hop’s most enduring civic voices to the Bandshell. Common’s prolific discography spans the ‘90s to the present day. Between releasing albums and authoring books, he has received an Oscar, a Grammy, and an Emmy for his creative work, all the while working tirelessly as an activist dedicated to social justice. Join us for an event that is as much a cultural moment as a concert.

Jen Kirkman: I’m Not Trying To Be Funny (but it’s ok to laugh) at Joe’s Pub

Jen Kirkman is back on stage for the first time in five years and only at Joe's Pub with "I'm Not Trying To Be Funny" (but it's ok to laugh). Breaking free from stand-up comedy Jen is reading and telling stories about death, love, Tik Tok, perimenopause, bad therapy, quantum physics, and being a Gen-X woman enjoying living her worst life. Jen is a TV writer, author, and has two critically acclaimed comedy specials on Netflix.

Dominican Night at the Bandshell at Prospect Park (Brooklyn)
Saturday August 29, 6 to 10 pm
Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso presents an unforgettable night of Dominican music, featuring Teodoro Reyes, the blind legend of bachata, whose songs of bittersweet love are charged with raw emotional power; La Insuperable, aka “La Mami del Swagger,” a trailblazer in the Dominican dembow scene; and Aris Jackson, who combines elements of tropical and popular Latin music with charismatic style. Plus, high-energy sets by the mighty DJ Mega Jay.
There will be an ASL interpreter on stage.

Glenn Crytzer Quartet: Vol. 5 of "The Songbook Sessions" Album Release at Birdland Jazz Club
Sun. August 30 at 5:30 pm
During 2020 pandemic shutdowns, Glenn Crytzer and His Quartet formed a "pod," converted a room of Glenn’s NYC apartment into a recording and live streaming studio, and undertook an ambitious, fan-funded project: recording 10 songs per week for 25 weeks, live in front of a streaming audience. Each week the band researched songs from a different year, beginning with 1920 and moving chronologically to 1944, seeking out original sheet music and early recordings to inform their melodic and harmonic decisions. Critics have called their recordings “timeless” and “living, breathing, swinging music that folks will still be enjoying a hundred years from today.”
