CHICAGO Begins Summer Schedule Today

The long-running hit Broadway musical Chicago previously announced an innovative new summer performance schedule. This new schedule, designed to better accomodate both the domestic and international tourist markets, features Thursday matinee performances at 3 p.m.
"Throughout the past 15 years, we've had the opportunity to thoroughly research and analyze the trends for summer tourist traffic in New York City," said Chicago producer Barry Weissler. "We believe that the addition of Thursday matinees will prove popular with tourists, and we're excited to see how they respond to this ground-breaking new opportunity to experience Chicago."
Effective today, the new summer performance schedule will be as follows:
Monday 8 p.m.
Tuesday DARK
Wednesday 8 p.m.
Thursday 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Friday 8 p.m.
Saturday 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Sunday 7 p.m.
(The summer performance schedule continues through Sunday, September 4. Chicago's regular performance schedule will resume on Monday, September 5.)
Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, Chicago is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. The producion currently stars Christie Brinkley as Roxie Hart (through June 19), Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton.
