Allison Janney, a five-time Emmy winner for her performance as C.J. Cregg on Aaron Sorkin's long-running political drama THE WEST WING - who took home her most recent for her guest starring role on Showtime's MASTER OF SEX last weekend - could already be taking home her sixth.

The stage and screen star is up for her eighth award at the 2014 ceremony next Monday, this time for playing Anna Faris' former alcoholic - and estranged - mother, 'Bonnie,' on the CBS sitcom MOM.

In honor of her most recent Emmy nod, BWW is taking a brief look back at her career credits and highlights, from her Tony-nominated role in Dolly Parton's 9 TO 5 on Broadway, to her pending film releases.

In 1996, Janney made her Broadway debut in a revival of Noel Coward's comedy PRESENT LAUGHTER, following it up with a turn in A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE in 1997, co-starring Stephen Spinella and the late Brittany Murphy.

Janney went on to score a Tony nomination for her role the stage adaptation of 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, alongside future SMASH star Megan Hilty and Stephanie J. Block. The three were joined by Marc Kudisch in the production, which opened April 30, 2009 on Broadway at the Marriott Marquis Theatre.

Janney's recent feature credits include 2013's THE WAY, WAY BACK with Steve Carell and Toni Collette. In addition, Janney has a number of films due for release, including Lynn Shelton's TOUCHY FEELY; the upcoming Paul Feig comedy SPY, also starring Melissa McCarthy; THE NIGHT IS YOUNG; THE HEART; and A BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER.

Her past film include THE HELP, the Oscar-winning JUNO, the all-star film adaptation of Broadway's HAIRSPRAY, LIFE DURING WARTIME, AWAY WE GO, the cult hit DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, THE HOURS, AMERICAN BEAUTY, and voicework in FINDING NEMO.

In the videos below, check out some of Janney's performances, proving why she's become one of film and television's most beloved familiar faces.
