On Monday, September 20, 2004, there will be a one-night-only performance of the work of William Shakespeare and the contemporary poetry of Felix Dennis. Proceeds from the Big Voices fundraising evening on September 20 support the work of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in the United States, the United Kingdom and elsewhere around the world.

British poet Felix Dennis and legendary British and American actors Patrick Stewart, Samantha Bond, Roger Rees, Stephen Campbell Moore, Mark Hadfield, Sinead Cusack and Lisa Dillon will headline the "Big Voices" performance at Gotham Hall. The event will be directed by RSC Associate Artistic Director Laurence Boswell.

Felix Dennis (www.felixdennis.com) is one of Britain's best known entrepreneurs. A pioneer in personal computer magazines, he also co-founded a $2 billion computer mail order company which eventually went public on the NASDAQ. Following a life-threatening illness, Dennis's first collection of poetry, A Glass Half Full, was published in November 2002 by Hutchinson in the UK. It has since become one of the biggest selling books of original verse in England for years. Dennis's poetry has been featured in the national press, on many radio interviews and has been the subject of two major television documentaries. Spoken word and Braille editions of A Glass Half Full have been produced by organizations for the blind.
