29th Street Playwrights Collective Kicks Off Fall New Works Series With Embracing The Undertoad The 29th Street Playwrights Collective kicks off its fall NEW WORKS SERIES with a staged reading of Embracing the Undertoad by Robin Rice on Monday, Sept 17, at the Royal Family Performing Arts Space on 145 W46th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), 3rd Floor, at 7:30 pm.

Agnes is petrified of something buried in her past. Life with her lover begins falling apart when her space cadet sister appears, demanding that Agnes open up. If Agnes can't face her fear, the undertow of the unknown may destroy them all.

Featuring Jane Cortney (The Woodsman - Oberon Theatre Ensemble), Jessica DiSalvo (Welcome to America / New Worlds Theatre Project-Dir. Stephen Brown-Fried), Kelsey Pressnall (24 hour plays), and Jonathan Dauermann. Kenny Wade Marshall directs.

There will be an unstaged reading for industry on Thursday, September 20, 1:30pm, at the Dramatist Guild Foundation Music Hall at 356 W40th St, 2nd floor. Seating is very limited.

Free tickets for both events are available at Eventbrite.com. Donations at the door are appreciated.

The 29th Street Playwrights Collective develops the voices of emerging, mature playwrights through weekly writing sessions, craft discussions and presentations. Our goal is to foster new work for the stage while supporting the needs of the playwright, committing to gender parity (serving 50% women), and providing opportunities for the public to attend workshop performances and provide feedback.

Funding for the NEW WORKS SERIES 2018 has been made possible by the Puffin Foundation.
