BWW Preview: MAMMA MIA! Set to Play in Appleton Area

MAMMA MIA! will play at Wausau's Grand Theater on May 11 and at Appleton's Fox Cities Performing Arts Center from May 12-14.

MAMMA MIA! is the smash-hit musical featuring the songs of ABBA. With numbers like "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me" and, of course, "Mamma Mia," the familiar tunes are as entertaining as they are memorable.

The show is set on a Greek island where a young woman, Sophie, is about to get married. However, Sophie wants her father to attend, which creates some problems since no one knows who he is. Much to her mother's chagrin, Sophie invites three potential fathers, which leads to entertaining hijinks on the eve of her wedding. With catchy songs, entertaining dance numbers and an unmatched energy, MAMMA MIA! is a joy to watch.

MAMMA MIA! has played to adoring audiences across the world since its 1999 West End launch. However, this tour is being billed as the "farewell tour," so unfortunately, it may be the last chance to see the show for a while.

The Wausau performance is already sold out. Limited tickets are available for Appleton performances, with the best selection for Sunday, May 14 performances.
