Jim previously directed Joe Sorrentinos very funny The Gavones of Philadelphia at The Adobe Theater. The premise - A simple phone call to an automated banking system turns into a humorous battle of wits. Two Albuquerque theatre favorites - Matthew Van Wettering makes the call and gets the robo voice performed by H.K. Phillips.GEORGIA ATHEARN takes up the directors baton again and has selected two of David Ives 15-minute one acts from All In The Timing. There are six one acts in the script of which are normally performed in two acts for a night of live theater. Georgia has selected Sure Thing and The Philadelphia for the comedic relief they bring forth as well as the feeling we have all shared during this pandemic. That feeling of what the heck is going on and didnt I just say that or where the (expletive) am I? Sure Thing - a chance meeting of two characters, Betty and Bill, whose conversation is continually reset by the use of a ringing bell, starting over when one of them responds negatively to the other - is performed by Joel Miller and Catalina. The Philadelphia is performed by Yannig Morin, Jasa Pricer and Ludwig Puchmayer. At a restaurant, a man is informed by a friend that his frustratingly unlucky day is the result of his ensnarement in an anomalous pocket of reality, called a "Philadelphia," in which he will only be fulfilled by asking for the opposites of what he wants.
