Red Mountain Press of Santa Fe, in partnership with Teatro Paraguas, will present two prize-winning Cuban authors on Saturday, April 8, as they each launch new books of poetry. Translated by Margaret Randall and published by Red Mountain Press, these books will expose American readers for the first time to the refined literary art of these exceptional Cuban writers. The launch event will take place at 6 PM, Saturday, April 8, at Teatro Paraguas, 3205 Calle Marie.

Laura Ruiz Montes, winner of Cuba's National Critic's Award, will read from her new book, Diapositivas/Transparancies. Alfredo Zaldivar, holder of Cuba's Honor of Distinction in National Culture,

will present his new book, Trillos/Precipicios/Concurrencias - Pathways/Precipices/Rivalries. Conversations with the authors will continue following the readings.

Additional readings will take place on Friday, April 7 at The University of New Mexico, 2 PM in the Willard Room, Zimmerman Library, and 6 PM at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.

The Santa Fe event will be part of a series of readings in celebration of Red Mountain's tenth anniversary of publishing.
