NextStop Theatre Company has announced the next bold, new offering in their ambitious inaugural season. Under the leadership of Series Producer, area based performing artist Jim Van Slyke, the company will present eighteen intimate concerts, featuring a eclectic mixture of Broadway stars, nationally acclaimed cabaret artists and some of the finest local singers in the DC Metropolitan area.

Karen Mason will kick off the first two evenings of the series on July 11-12. Ms. Mason has starred on Broadway in such hits as Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Wonderland and Hairspray. As a vocalist, she has appeared all over the country, including headline performances at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. "Fierce emotion! Intense and Intimate! She creates a mood of wild expectation." (New York Times)

Appearing July 26th will be Tony-nominated actress and singer Sally Mayes. Described by the New York Times as "a singer of incandescent ebullience, deliciously saucy," Ms. Mayes is best known for her raved about performance in the Broadway revival of She Loves Me. She has also appeared on TV, in film and on multiple cast recordings. Ms. Mayes has released four solo albums.

The series will close with two performances by Award Winning, Grammy nominated recording and concert artist Jim Van Slyke on August 15-16, presenting his critically acclaimed Sedaka Show. "I am honored and beyond excited to be working with NextStop Theatre on this project," said Jim Van Slyke, who is a nationally recognized, award-winning performer and recording artist, based in Northern Virginia. "Having my friends Karen Mason and Sally Mayes be a part of this series demonstrates the strong commitment we are making to bringing the best possible artists to Herndon and will also help to highlight the other outstanding performers we will be featuring that live and work right here in our own community."

Running from July 11th to August 16th in the company's 114-seat black box theatre, audiences will be invited to grab a drink or snack from the bar and be transported for evenings featuring classics from musical theatre, jazz, rock, soul and even current hits. Tickets sales and the full schedule of artists and dates are now on sale at www.NextStopTheatre.org.

NextStop recently opened a critically acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, which features the voice of Kathie Lee Gifford as the Giant's Wife. The production runs through June 1st.
