NY Theatre Barn to Present Bolin, 'Wood,' 'Wyatt' Songs

By:

"New York Theatre Barn in the D-Lounge" will be presented at the Daryl Roth D-Lounge (101 East 15 Street) on Monday, July 23, 2007.  The lounge opens at 7pm, and the first performance is at 8pm.

At 8pm, "Sex, Drugs and Kittybrains: The music of Eli Bolin" will be performed.  It will feature Bolin (I Sing! composer), Allison Jill Posner, Bridget Everett and the Striking Viking Story Pirates.

At 9:30pm, music from the new musical Wood will be performed.  Wood has book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis.  The performance will feature Sally Wilfert (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer), Maryann Schaub, Danny Larsen (composer of The Yellow Wood), Jason Michael Snow, Blake Whyte, Matt Leahy and Colin Howard.

"Welcome home to Normal, Anywhere, the perfectly liberal community where all is as it should be…that is until one young man sneaks away to those dirty woods that no one ever talks about on the outskirts of town. The result is one sexy and unforgettable night complete with spandex clad color guard enthusiasts, shirtless born again Christians, moms disguised as a men, quarreling divas and a back up trio of men who sing from the public restroom stalls," state press notes for Wood.

Between sets, there will be a sneak preview of the New York Theatre Barn's staged reading of I Married Wyatt Earp, featuring Veronica J. Kuehn (Mamma Mia!), Sheilah Rae (lyricist, I Married Wyatt Earp), Erin Henry, Ashley McHugh, Stephanie Palumbo, Emily Battles, with Music Direction by Steve Smith.

"I Married Wyatt Earp tells the story of the women of historic Tombstone, Arizona. At the heart of many haunting memories lives a love story, a survival story, a ghost story, and mystery so compelling that you'll be sitting on the edge of your saddle…uh, seat."

Visit www.NYTheatreBarn.org for more information.  There is a $10 cover and 1 Drink Minimum for tickets. No reservation is necessary.
