Rumble Productions is set to present Greg MacArthur's Snowman. Denver and Marjorie are drifters who have found a routine: find a town, find an apartment, get jobs, walk around, make friends, and stay for a month or a year before packing up and moving on. Over ten years they've made their way up to a small Canadian town on the edge of the glacial shield where they meet and befriend Jude, a young gay man who was abandoned by his parents and has an affinity for German porn. When Jude finds a prehistoric body frozen in the glacier, everyone's lives begin to shift and thaw in unexpected ways.

Eight years ago, in his first project with Rumble Productions, Craig Hall directed Snowman for The Young and the Restless series (now the TREMORS Festival). After going on to serve as Rumble's Artistic Producer for the past six years, his experience with the company is coming full circle as Snowman will mark his last major project before he moves on to become the Artistic Director of Vertigo Theatre in Calgary. "It seems only appropriate then that I wrap up my time at Rumble with the play that began my relationship with the company back in 2003," says Hall.

While this new production of Snowman may be a walk down memory lane for some, the creative team is intentionally taking a new approach. Rehearsals are being held in Stanley Park, surrounding the team with as much wilderness as Vancouver can muster in an attempt to imitate the isolation of the small town featured in the story. New approaches guide the design concepts as well: sound designer Robert Perrault will be creating a fully integrated, live sound design, playing and underscoring the whole show live on stage using three guitars and various effects pedals.

Snowman will feature the award-winning ensemble of Derek Metz (The Patron Saint of Stanley Park), Anna Cummer (The Miracle Worker), Kathleen Duborg (A Lie of the Mind), and Charlie Gallant (The Merchant of Venice). Direction by Craig Hall. Assistant direction by Kirsten Slenning. Lighting design by John Webber. Music and sound design by Robert Perrault. Set design by Yvan Morissette. Stage management by Jaimie Tait.
